Stainless Steel Containers | Thermos | Condiment containers | Slim Ice Packs | Utensils
My kids are going into 4th and 6th this year and I’m not looking forward to all the packed lunches. We’ve been homeschooling for the past two years and not having a to deal with lunches everyday was NICE. Here are a few things we have going into the school year that make lunches a tad easier.
- Stainless Steel containers. Don’t want to use plastic, but afraid to pack glass? I get it. Me too. I bought these this year to try out. They seem to be the perfect size for lunch boxes.
- Thermos. This is so needed for hot meals. The trick is to fill it up with boiling water, pour the boiling water out, transfer the hot food into it and it will still be warm by lunch time. My kids have never complained with anything being too cold when using this method. You can do the same with cold food. Put the thermos in the fridge or freezer to get nice and cold.
- Condiment containers – Everybody loves a good dip, right? These are great for ketchup, salad dressings, veggie dip or caramel for apples.
- Ice Packs – Slim Ice packs might I add. Definitely needed when it comes to packing lunches.
- Utensils – This comes in a pack of 4. Instead of having your spoons or forks being thrown out throughout the year or going through boxes of plastic utensils. These reusable ones are great AND it includes chopsticks!!
I’m not one of those elaborate lunch makers, I just want them to eat a relatively healthy meal and not forget it in the morning.
Now the questions is what do we put in the lunch? I did some research for you and came up with a whole list of ideas. You may want to check it out and save it for when that Lunch Box slump happens. It’s cool, we all go through it.
